Before You Begin
1. Review our Open Call for this year’s residency theme, AGENCY.
2. Confirm your eligibility. Applicants for our virtual residencies must:
- Be based in the United States, outside of New York City, and remain US-based for the full residency term.
- Apply as individuals; collectives and collaborative teams are not eligible for this cycle.
- Not be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program or employed as full-time faculty at a higher-learning institution.
- Not be participating in or committed to another residency during the residency term.
3. Gather your materials. We recommend reviewing this guide to ensure you have all of the required application materials. You will be able to save your application before submission so that you may complete it across multiple sessions if needed, but please note that you will not be able to edit your application once you have submitted it.

Interview Period: October 26-28, 2026
Notifications: October 29, 2026
Residency Period: November 4, 2026-February 12, 2027
